C.A.R. (Choosing Acronyms Randomly) is the project of Chloe Raunet, a geek for the weirder end of electronic music, co-host of the Latete Atoto show on NTS Radio and former singer of cold-wave band Battant.
Playful, electronic and dark, her music has been described as Sardonic Pop, straddling the spheres of post-punk, synth-pop, krautrock and psychedelic disco. Often donning a boiler suit, she is known for uplifting dance floors with her clever lyrics, distinct voice and unique delivery.
Her debut album, MY FRIEND was released on Kill The DJ in November 2014. Album two is on the way (due out autumn 2016) and the live group continues to grow and develop. Recent addition Andrea Balency (Bataille Records) occasionally joins Thorbjorn Kolbrunarson (Iceland Arts) and Harry James (O Children) to the live formation.
As well as writing her own material, C.A.R. collaborates with other artists. She penned & delivered the lyrics on Gesaffelstein's highly acclaimed debut ALEPH, appeared on Ruede Hagelstein's APOPHENIA, featured on Maceo Plex’s hit MIRROR ME for Kompakt Records & has ongoing projects with Red Axes, Manfredas, It's A Fine Line (Ivan Smagghe & Tim Paris) and South London Ordnance.
